ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Julia Cadwallader
Being an inquisitive person, she has always been looking to learn more things. Her path has been largely shaped by her interests in learning about other individuals, their lifestyles, cultures, religions, and how they find balance within themselves. Apart from her involvement with Martial Arts, Yoga and Tai Chi, she has also taught Visual arts and Media in P1-12 schools and TAFE (Technical and Further Information). These experiences have helped her understand how to cope with stress, reconnect with self, and find clarity in life. Her professional journey has had a variety of twists and turns, but all connected with her interest in learning and creativity.
She has done 10 years of tertiary education and has 3 diplomas across Visual Arts and Media, Natural health Industry, Herbalist Flower Essences and Stress management. Her career also involves part-time teaching to hone her other interests and skills. She has also been involved in some social work, including work with Lifeline. Her time there helped her gain first hand insights about how people struggle to find balance in their lives.
She has worked closely with the early Flower Essence evolvement in Australia. Working with many respected individuals, helped her understand how mental health can be supported by a simple, natural approach to well-being. She has also had experience with web designs and production media.
That, and her years of work as a photographer expanded her creativity; as she combined art, design, and technology in meaningful ways. Her early interest in martial arts, and its philosophy behind “the warrior within” helped her shape her understanding of self-confidence, motivation, and resilience. It showed her how to go through life calmy, and how to be comfortable with who you are.
Teaching has been a constant throughout all these experiences, as she loves to pass on the information she has gathered throughout her life. This is also evident in her work. Her books teach people mindfulness, and how to improve their mental well-being by taking time out for yourself, refocusing, and finding comfort in their creativity.
